SYRACH Bassist Forced To Sit Out European Dates; Temporary Replacement Announced
August 17, 2008Norwegian doom metallers SYRACH have issued the following update:
"Due to some work-related issues, our bass player Hjarandr [real name: Ørjan Setvik] will not take part on [the upcoming European] tour. He will be replaced by the lord of low tunes, Mr. Øystein K. He will debut with us on the 1880 gig [on August 22 in Bergen, Norway], just to try out, and then he will come along for the tour. The few rehersals we've had together has been great and Hjarandr has been a good teacher for him. We are really looking forward to this tour, and are very sorry that our real bass man can't be with us this time. However, we wish Mr. K welcome aboard, and may the wheels be with us this time... We hope to see as many of you as possible on our tour, and are looking forward to share a pint (...or ten) with you all!"
SYRACH's debut album, "Days of Wrath", was produced by Herbrand Larsen from ENSLAVED and was released on November 2, 2007 in Europe and November 6 in North America via Napalm Records. The CD cover artwork is the painting "Christs" from MY DYING BRIDE vocalist Aaron Stainthorpe.

SYRACH was formed in 1993 in Kalandseidet, near Bergen, Norway — a region known to have spawned bands like IMMORTAL and BURZUM, to name a few.
